Man Fashion: 5 Simple Ways to Choose the Right T-Shirts

It’s mens fashion T-shirt time again, but before you dash out and buy any of mens fashion T-shits, consider what to look for in choosing them. They are very versatile and durable if you choose wisely, and it is better to pay a little more so that the T-shirts you buy will last the whole season at least.

  1. First of all, check that the color suits you, or if you are buying for a man, then think about the colors that suit him rather than the ones you like. If he has auburn hair, he might not look good in a flame red T-shirt, for example.
  2. You should also consider the color from the point of view of its color fast properties. Do a small test by wetting a finger and rubbing it on the T-shirt. If the color comes off onto your finger, it will lose its color rapidly and will always have to be washed separately by hand. If it accidentally gets into the washing machine then you will have a minor disaster on your hands. You could not test this if you buy from online store, but you can rely on reputable brands.
  3. Buy colors that reflect the heat rather than those which absorb it, so white is a good choice and pastel shades, beige or pistachio green, not black or dark blue. You don’t want to be any hotter than is necessary.
  4. Check the stitching to see how firm it is. If it looks flimsy, then you will have a repair job to do after wearing and washing the T-shirt a couple of times.
  5. Last and most importantly, is to try it on and raise your arms above your head.

If the T-shirt rides up and leaves a vast expanse of flesh between it and the belt- line, then you need a bigger size. If you have swathes of material bunched around your waist, when you do this, then clearly it’s too big, unless you want a really baggy mens fashion T-shirt.

Of course there are always rugby shirts and tank-tops for men, although the former is usually made from thicker cotton than the T-shirt, and the tank-top doesn’t suit everyone, and it doesn’t protect the vulnerable skin at the top of your arms and shoulders. Mens fashion T-shirts are the better bet as they don’t go out of fashion and are easy to wear.

Top 10 Tips on Proper Business Attire for Men

In my whole working life, being in work or attend business functions, parties or dinners, a proper dressed up is always a plus point than under dressed. In this session, I would like to share the TOP 10 tips on what we should wear in such environment.
  • Choose a conservative suit in navy, black or gray either pinstripe or solid. The quality of the material speaks as loudly as the color and can make the difference between sleaze and suave.
  • A solid white or blue dress shirt with long sleeves offers the most polished look. The more pattern and color you add, the more the focus is on your clothing, rather than your professionalism.
  • Ties should be made of silk or a silk-like fabric. Avoid the cartoon characters and go for simple and subtle if you want to enhance your credibility.
  • Socks should be calf-length or above. Make sure they match not only what you are wearing, but also each other. A quick glance in good light before heading out the door can save embarrassment later in the day. Check for holes as well if you'll be going through airport security and removing your shoes.
  • Shoes should without question be conservative, clean and well polished. Lace-up shoes are the choice over slip-ons or flip flops. Don't think for a minute that people don't notice shoes. Many people will look at your feet before your face.
  • Belts need to match or closely coordinate with your shoes. Once again, quality counts.
  • Keep jewelry to a minimum. In a time when men sport gold necklaces, bracelets and earrings, the business professional should limit himself to a conservative watch, a wedding band and maybe his college ring.
  • Personal hygiene is part of the success equation. Freshly scrubbed wins out over heavily fragranced any day of the week. Save the after-shave for after hours, but never the shave itself.
  • The accessories: briefcase, portfolio and pen. When it comes to sealing the deal, a top of the line suit, a silk tie and a good pair of leather shoes can lose their affect when you pull out the ball point pen you picked up in the hotel meeting room the day before.
  • The finishing part of the whole attire, be confident on your self and carry a good looking smile on your face.

Man Fashion: 5 Buy Calls for 2008 Men's Fashion

I am sure some might wondering, what should the trend in 2008 after my earlier post on 7 Men Fashion to avoid in 2008? There are many saying that 70's fashion is coming back, punk fashion should be in high popularity. Well, in my opinion, some of the fashion trends in 2007 might spill over to this year. Here are some of the fashion that will still in high demand.
  1. Jeans - In particular eco-friendly jeans. Since Levi's launched their the Levi's(R) 506 Standard Fit Jean for guys and the Levi's(R) 570 Straight Fit Jean for girls in end 2006, this type of eco-trend jeans will continue to dominant the jean's world in 2008.
  2. Watch - The classic trend is back, a classic round wristwatch, with hobnail bezel, Roman numerals, and a beautiful porcelain white dial. Patek Philippe Calatrava, a classic of the less-is-more genre, demonstrates, taste is one thing you can't measure with a ruler.
  3. Sweater Vest - Call it the revenge of the nerds, but the latest release of GAP V-neck sweaters is making your traditional sweater vest in your closet look a little outdated.
  4. Boots - Rocking this ensemble from head to toe, as David Beckham did on a recent Arena magazine cover—may not be for everyone, but chances are there's a pair of bovver boots or suspenders in your future.

  5. iPhone - Don't require further elaboration. Find out the nearest Apple store near you today.
